OUR PHILOSOPHY
Fortitude Service Dogs specializes in training working-line Golden Retrievers & Labrador Retrievers. In addition to teaching our dogs how to perform functional tasks for various disabilities, our dogs are also taught to perform in the field. This is a crucial part of our program as it offers our clients the ability to participate in a sport with their dog no matter their mobility limitations. By taking part in this field sport, which we call “dummy work,” our dogs become the catalyst to better health by getting our clients outside in nature, by assisting them in building confidence, and by helping them find a sense of community.
